How do we evaluate the results?
Pavel BurešIf you have a competitive spirit, you will definitely appreciate our leaderboard for each escape game. This will be displayed after you play the game, and you can compare your performance with other teams in it.

But what determines the overall ranking?
The overall ranking is determined by the number of points collected, which are assigned to you for each task based on the success of its solution.
Success is monitored according to these variables, ordered by importance:
- Number of hints
- Number of errors
- Speed
How many points will I get?
For each task, you will be awarded points based on how many hints "H" you used, how many attempts "A" you made (i.e., the number of errors), and how much time "T" you spent on the task.
The number of points for each task may not always be constant (due to varying difficulty, etc.), but for better illustration, let's create this example scenario:
Maximum points:
- For 0 hints: Hmax = 10000b
- For 0 errors: Amax = 6000b
- For time 0s (theoretical value only): Tmax = 7200b
For each hint, incorrect attempt, and time, points are deducted from you, basically in this way:
For each hint H1: -900b, which corresponds to the equivalent of 15 minutes of time
For each attempt A1: -600b, which corresponds to the equivalent of 10 minutes
For 1s, i.e., time T1: -1b, Tmax=7200b corresponds to the equivalent of 2 hours
For each task, you will then receive a score that follows the formula:
Score = Max (1000; Hmax - Hi) + Max (500; Amax - Ai) + Max (0; Tmax - Ti)
- Hi = Number of used hints
- Ai = Number of attempts, i.e., number of errors
- Ti = Time spent solving the task
The maximum number of points per task in our example scenario is therefore 23200 (a purely theoretical value for the example scenario when 0s are spent on the task).
The minimum number of points according to the formula above is 1500b. However, this is the minimum score you'll only get if you use at least 10 hints for one task, make 10 or more errors, and spend at least 2 hours solving it.
This evaluation system allows us to reward the best among you while also giving a solid chance to those who might get stuck on one task or make a minor mistake, but will excel at other tasks.
Final tip
Based on the above, you can better evaluate when to take a hint, when to take a bit of a risk and guess the answer, or when it's better to spend more time on one task. If you are faster and don't make mistakes on other tasks, you can still catch up on almost any loss thanks to our scoring system.
Leaderboard
You will find out how you performed in the game in the summary leaderboard, which is displayed after you play the game. In it, you will see not only your ranking and the time it took you to complete the game, but also the number of errors and the number of hints that you or the teams before you took during the game.
In the future, we plan to add more detailed game statistics to the leaderboards. This means you'll find out which tasks caused you to drop in rank or, conversely, where you showed your opponents a clean pair of heels. Something akin to measuring split times in running races.
Even though our games are meant to be about the outcome last, we always want to bring something extra to players. We still have plenty of ideas, and we simply enjoy moving forward :).
